Canvas: 'Glymur'

In Icelandic, "Glymur" means to roar. Towering at 198 meters, this waterfall is aptly named for the thunderous sound it creates as it cascades into the ravine, eventually flowing out to the North Sea, visible in the distance. I started the hike at the ravine's base, across the river with its class 3 rapids. A wire was strung across, challenging the brave to traverse it. With my camera gear secured, I began this adventure at 8 pm, illuminated by the midnight sun. The path ascended steeply up the side of the ravine, rocky and intersected by tiny streams. Beyond each peak lay another climb. The hike spanned several hours, yet the breathtaking view from the summit made the arduous trek worthwhile.
